    Term 4!
    We willhave all have a page each which will showbeen working extremely hard at improving our learning goals for literacywriting through reflective thinking! Each day we had to edit our writing using our success-o-meter and numeracy.
    Mrs Keightley has found that some
    have learned how to give feedback to our peers in small groups. All of us need help with building simple and compound sentences, as well as being able to identify nouns, verbs, adjectiveshave improved our writing at least one sub level on our school writing continuum. We all chose one piece of writing we believed to be ableour best in relation to use a variety of language features.
    We need
    the learning we had covered in writing and sat with Mrs Keightley to reflect usingset our thinking hats,next learning steps. You will see these next steps on our success-o-meter and then try outindividual pages. Most of our new skillsin-class work was through daily practice in writing using success criteria. However, we also had specific vocabulary / literacy games to play at reading time to help improve our knowledge of adjectives, nouns, verbs and building sentences. We also used the learning links on our wiki and school intranet as ICT tools. Some of us used Kidpix to type our writing or Photo booth to setrecord what we said. These two tools were great for showing us how important it is to check spelling and that what we say makes sense. Over the next two weeks we will be putting what we think is a STUNNING piece of writing on our "wherepages to next"share with Mrs Keightley.you and you can give us feedback as to whether our goals are being met!

    Writing :
    Always try to say my words slowly to try and get letter sounds in order of words I want to spell.
    Write words I know correctly every time I write.
    Read my writing back as I go to check each sentence makes sense.
    Write all my letters the right way so that I can read back my attempts.
    Begin to find words I nearly got correct from word cards or junior dictionaries.

    Use more adjectives to make my writing more interesting for the reader.

    Focus on getting one idea down at a time, reading it as I go to make sure it makes sense.
    Always spell the words I know how to, or can find from word cards/sources around the room.
    Try to use compound sentences more often, joining two ideas together with and/but/because/then/so!

    Write compound sentences using and/but/so/because/then as joining words.
    Make my writing bigger and more consistent size so I can read back my attempts.
    Read my writing before seeing the teacher to check my sentences make sense.
    Use a greater range of adjectives to describe the noun or verb.
    Always correctly spell words I know, or can find.

    Say my words slowly so that I can hear all the letter sounds in the right order.
    Write down the words I know how to spell or find on the word cards.

    Always read back my writing so I am checking that my sentences make sense and the fullstop is in the right place.
    Try to write using compound sentences joining two ideas together with and/but/because/so/then
    Say my words slower so I can get more sounds in order.
    Always spell the words I know correctly.
    Write my letters quicker and neater so that I can read back my writing.
